(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – The fight by Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) administration intensified Friday when the State of California opened a civil rights investigation into a local school district that dared to implement a rule mandating schools to inform parents if youngsters wish to alter their gender.

The Chino Valley Unified School District in Riverside County adopted the policy by a 4-1 vote, as Breitbart News reported last month, despite the opposition of Gavin Newsom’s state government officials and with the enthusiastic support of parents.

Tony Thurmond, the superintendent of public instruction from the state, addressed the meeting in person before being removed by security due to unruly behavior.

The state has started investigating the school district’s civil rights as part of its ongoing battle.

Attorney General Rob Bonta announced an investigation on Friday, stating that the policy violates students’ civil and privacy rights, as well as their educational opportunities.

He also expressed concern about the potential for “trauma, harassment, bullying, violence, and threats of violence.”

“No state legislation permits the state to forbid a school district from enacting a parental notification policy,” a move that school board president Sonja Shaw hailed as plain logic in an interview.

Local school boards are being under pressure from Newsom and his coalition of state representatives to adopt the state’s LGBTQ+ curriculum. But according to a recent survey, 84% of California voters support parental notification laws in schools.
