Bill Introduced Mandating ONLY American Flags on Government Buildings

( – Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) presented legislation on Wednesday that would make it illegal to fly any flag but the American one over public facilities.

The law, known as the One Flag for All Act, would virtually forbid any federal building from draping or flying any flag other than the American flag.

The LGBTQ Pride flag was flown prominently at the White House by President Joe Biden, which spurred discussion about whether it was against U.S. flag regulations. Hence, the bill.

The nation of a visiting diplomat, the state flags of a member of Congress, and military flags are among the exclusions to Marshall’s law.

Biden’s display of the Pride flag at the White House was criticized by Marshall as a “disgrace.”

“This is shameful. It not only violates the U.S. Flag Code, but it also serves as a stark illustration of the White House’s incompetence and insistence on prioritizing social agenda over patriotism,” he tweeted.

Marshall stated that it was “a sad state of affairs” when the White House put its extreme social agenda ahead of patriotism.

“The American flag should never be disregarded by anyone, especially the President of the United States, as it stands for liberty and justice for ALL,” he added.

“Old Glory must reign supreme as a symbol of our nation’s freedom that thousands of our service-members, and veterans have fought and died to protect. The One Flag For All Act ensures that the American Flag never gets sidelined for culture wars and political points and remains the sole symbol of our nation’s freedom and sacrifices.”

Fox News reported this week that the House Appropriations Committee “advanced legislation that would restrict the kinds of flags that are allowed to fly on Department of Veterans Affairs properties.”

The Republican lawmakers’ letter on June 6 warning that Pride flags were being flown at V.A. facilities “at the expense of other traditional flags… such as the American flag, whose Stars and Stripes represent all Americans,” led to the passage of the measure.
