(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – According to reports, the Catholic Church has rejected President Joe Biden and asked him not to attend the late Pope Benedict XVI’s burial.
While departing the White House on Wednesday, Biden, who asserts to be a Catholic despite holding opposing views, acknowledged the snub while speaking with reporters on the South Lawn.
With Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the president is heading to Kentucky to celebrate his infrastructure law (R-KY).
When the former pope passed away on Saturday, a reporter questioned Biden about why he wouldn’t be at the funeral.
Biden, however, seemed to yell at the reporter in response to the query.
As a purported “devout Catholic,” Biden said he was instructed not to attend the well-known funeral.
According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden won’t attend the funeral; instead, the United States ambassador to the Holy See, Joe Donnelly, will represent the U.S. at the funeral.
According to Jean-Pierre, Biden won’t be at the funeral “in accordance with the late Pope and the Vatican’s desires.”

The reporter’s question about why Biden won’t attend the pope’s funeral clearly enraged him.
But tomorrow, you’re not going to [Pope Benedict XVI’s] burial. Why?” a journalist queried.

You tell me, the reporter replied.
“You understand why,” Biden said.
“You may tell me,” the reporter retorted, “sir.”
Biden then asserted that he won’t be present because he would need a 1,000-person entourage.
We would only obstruct things, he claimed.

The Vatican reported that during Benedict’s three days of lying in state in the basilica, where his body was laid out in front of the altar in red papal robes, an estimated 195,000 people had already paid their respects.
Though a great theologian, Benedict was a polarizing personality who alienated many Catholics with his steadfast defense of conservative theology on abortion.
