(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – On Tuesday night, the GOP-led House of Representatives took a vote to reprimand Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) over remarks she made criticizing Israel.
Tlaib was censured as a result of the 234-188 vote.
Merely 22 Democrats voted alongside 212 Republicans, while only four Republicans abstained from the proposal, and four more Republicans cast ballots in favor of it.

The keffiyeh has been worn by Hamas PLO terrorists for DECADES as a sick symbol of solidarity to DESTROY Israel. Today Rashida Tlaib wore one on the House floor. In every way, shape, and form, she continues to make the case she is PRO-TERROR! pic.twitter.com/46oX3oiRWG

The measure’s sponsor, Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA), claimed that Tlaib should be censured for her remarks because, by posting a video on X that had the phrase “from the river to the sea,” she effectively called for the destruction of Israel.
“If this is not worthy of censure, what is? When you can call for the annihilation of a country and its people, if that’s not worthy of a censure, what is?” McCormick said on the House floor.
According to Tlaib, “from the river to the sea” never referred to Israel’s destruction.
“From the river to the sea is an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence, not death, destruction, or hate. My work and advocacy is always centered in justice and dignity for all people no matter faith or ethnicity,” she said.
Democrats and Jews rejected the claim.
“It is fundamentally a call for a Palestinian state extending from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, territory that includes the State of Israel, which would mean the dismantling of the Jewish state,” the Anti-Defamation League’s website said.
“It is an antisemitic charge denying the Jewish right to self-determination, including through the removal of Jews from their ancestral homeland,” it added.
During her address to the House floor on Tuesday, Tlaib maintained her defiant stance.
I am the only Palestinian American serving in Congress, and my perspective is needed here now more than ever. I will not be silenced and I will not let anyone distort my words.

“It is important to separate people and governments,” she said. “The idea that criticizing the Israeli government is antisemitic sets a dangerous precedent.”
