FBI Leaked Document Calls Catholics ‘Radical Traditionalists’ With Ties To ‘Far-Right White Nationalist Movements’

(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – An internal Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) memo saying there was an investigation into “radical traditionalist” Catholics and their potential connections to the “far-right white nationalist movement” has been removed due to backlash and criticism.

According to reports, a whistleblower for the FBI released the material earlier this week. Kyle Seraphin, a special agent there for six years until he was permanently suspended without pay in June 2022, published it after that.

Seraphin noted in his analysis of the leaked document the unsupported assumption that “a preference for the Catholic Mass in Latin rather than the vernacular and a number of more traditional views on other world religions can amount to a ‘adherence to anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ and white supremacist ideology’.”

After receiving a request from the Catholic News Agency (CNA), the FBI removed the document, claiming it “does not match our stringent requirements.”

The statement questioned how targeting a faith group relates to “racial” or “ethnic” discrimination.

“While our standard practice is to not comment on specific intelligence products, this particular field office product — disseminated only within the FBI — regarding racially or ethnically motivated violent extremism does not meet the exacting standards of the FBI,” it read.

The statement went on saying,

“FBI Headquarters swiftly started moving to delete the document from FBI systems and undertake an assessment of the document’s justification.

The FBI will never conduct investigative activities or open an investigation based solely on First Amendment protected activity.

The FBI is committed to sound analytic tradecraft and to investigating and preventing acts of violence and other crimes while upholding the constitutional rights of all Americans.”

The FBI report used a verbatim copy of the SPLC list of “Radical Traditional Catholicism Hate Groups” as an appendix to its text and frequently referenced analyses from the far-left, scandal-plagued Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

According to former Attorney General Jeff Session, the “hate group” label has been “wielded against conservative groups that refuse to embrace their doctrine and opt to voice their conscience.

He told the Alliance Defending Freedom, “They use it to harass and intimidate organizations like yours who fight for the religious freedom, civil rights, and constitutional rights of others (ADF).”

On Thursday night, Kyle Seraphin said on Tucker Carlson Tonight that the FBI is “looking at the Catholic Church in their search for white nationalists” because they are “so anxious to find them.”

To go on to Christians in general and accuse them of being the real criminals in this nation or the prospective terrorists, they have discovered a backdoor in what they see as fringe Catholicism, according to Seraphin.

The whole text, he said, “is essentially written from the standpoint of someone who feels there are important abortion rights that need to be protected and also an LGBTQ agenda that has to be forced down the American people’s throats and both are antagonistic to Catholicism.”

According to Tucker Carlson, the FBI “has participated in the search for Christians” and has “tried to invent charges against real Catholics,” which is evidently enough to convince the Bureau to erase the objectionable report from their records.
