DeSantis Responds To Trump’s Latest Attack Saying…

( – In response to a question regarding former President Trump’s most recent criticisms, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) declined to criticize the former president.

He claims that attacks are coming “from all angles.” He points out that his landslide victory in the state demonstrates the effectiveness of his leadership style.

He emphasized the importance of steering “that ship” despite outside noise:

“It’s been happening for many, many years and if you look at the good thing about it is like if you take a crisis situation like COVID, you know, the good thing about it is when you’re an elected executive, you have to make all kinds of decisions.”

He cited his significant victory in the Sunshine State, where he defeated former Democrat Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) by a margin of almost 1.5 million votes, saying, “And the nice thing is, is that the people are able to cast a judgment on it whether they reelect you or not.”

That represents a substantial improvement from the 2018 election, in which DeSantis defeated Democrat Andrew Gillum by fewer than 33,000 votes.

He said, “We virtually doubled the previous record, which I think was like 780,000 vote margin. Not only did we win reelection, we won with the largest percentage of the vote that any Republican gubernatorial candidate had in the history of the state of Florida.”

To cheers, he declared, “And so what I would just say is that decision has been rendered by the people of the state of Florida.”

DeSantis’ comments follow one of Trump’s most recent attacks. The former president claimed to have helped elect the governor and labeled DeSantis and his supporter’s globalists.

Trump claimed on TruthSocial that “Ron DeSanctimonious, who I made Governor in BOTH the Primary and the General, is also a Globalist, and so are his donors.” “Last week, Jeb ‘Low Energy’ Bush was standing next to him. Verify PAST!

DeSantis has refrained from criticizing the former president despite insults from Trump, frequently branding the mainstream media as the enemy and highlighting his enormous victory in the midterm elections.

In November, when asked about the alleged “civil war” between the two, DeSantis responded, “People simply need to calm down.”

Trump’s apparent antagonism is surprising because DeSantis hasn’t explicitly stated that he won’t challenge him in the 2024 presidential election. On the other hand, DeSantis has not formally declared his intention to run either.
