(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – A full two years after entering office, President Joe Biden will finally make a flying visit to the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday.

Biden will spend a few hours in El Paso, Texas, now the main route for unauthorized border crossings.

The president’s short trip is timed to coincide with an international gathering in Mexico City, where Biden will have meetings with Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, and Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the president of Mexico.

By dodging questions and passing the buck to Vice President Kamala Harris and his pro-immigration, Cuban-born Homeland Security head Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden has already distanced himself from his border deluge.

According to reports, the visit follows years of negligence by the Biden administration, which caused a surge in unauthorized border crossings:

“Since Biden’s January 2021 inauguration, he and his deputies have allowed roughly 3.5 million economic migrants across the southern border, including more than a million “gotaways” that sneaked past the few border guards left at the border.

The inflow is 14 times as many as were allowed into the United States in President Donald Trump’s final year — and it has helped cut wages and spike rents for at least 100 million Americans.”

On Sunday, Biden is anticipated to meet with border guards to talk about immigration and the rising trafficking of synthetic opioids like fentanyl that are to blame for the U.S.’s alarmingly high overdose rates.

Biden will visit the El Paso County Migrant Services Center and speak with charitable organizations and faith-based organizations that assist immigrants as they enter the country.

According to reports, it is unclear if Biden will speak to any migrants.

Before Biden’s departure, Texas Republican John Cornyn provided some words of wisdom. This was only days after reports surfaced that a human smuggler shot an El Paso Border Patrol agent during a routine traffic check.

In addition to local officials and law enforcement, landowners, nonprofit organizations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and agents, and people who make their living in border communities on the front lines of his crisis, Cornyn said, “He must take the time to learn from some of the experts I rely on most.”

Biden will travel south from El Paso to Mexico City, where he will meet with the presidents of Mexico and Canada on Monday and Tuesday for a summit of North American leaders.

The Biden administration has been dealing with one of the most out-of-control borders for over a hundred years.

Let’s hope he uses this opportunity to fix the border, not just for a photo-op.
