(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – A minister of the Satanic Temple said that the organization is “happy to engage children” should a bill permitting chaplains in schools pass in Iowa.
A bill that would effectively permit or hire chaplains in school districts is being considered by Iowa lawmakers.
Senate Study Bill 3092, titled “Act authorizing school districts, charter schools, and innovation zone schools to employ chaplains, or engage volunteer chaplains, to provide services to students,” was cleared last week by a state Senate subcommittee.
The bill, House File 2073, was approved this week by a House subcommittee.
The bill makes it clear that the board of directors of a school district “shall not require or coerce a student to utilize the support, services, or programs provided by a chaplain who is employed or engaged by the board of directors of the school district pursuant to this section,” even though it would be legally permissible for school districts, charter schools, and innovation zone schools to hire chaplains or even have them voluntarily.
Still, there has been opposition to the plan, even from the Satanic Temple. It has, however, stated unequivocally that, should it pass, it will be more than “happy to engage children” in educational settings.
“But if the bill does pass, I’m excited for the opportunities it presents for the Satanic Temple to provide support services and programs to school children in our state,” Satanic Temple minister Mortimer Adramelech stated.
“Iowa has several ordained ministers of Satan and we would be happy to engage children,” he added, as chaplains of any religion would be permitted.
Last year, the Satanic Temple gained notoriety when it triumphantly unveiled the “world’s first religious abortion clinic,” which will provide “abortion rituals.”

As Breitbart News noted at the time, the Satanic Temple advertised its “clinic” with the express purpose of facilitating more access for moms to kill their unborn children by providing their “abortion ritual,” which helps them overcome feelings of guilt or shame.
“TST Health describes the “Abortion Ritual” as a “protective rite” designed to “cast off unwanted feelings” associated with taking the life of an unborn child. According to TST Health, the ritual involves spoken words exclusively and includes reciting the third tenet of the Satanic Temple — “One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone” — and the fifth — “Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.”
Ironically, “beliefs should adhere to one’s greatest scientific understanding of the world,” according to the sixth tenet of the Satanic Temple.
It fails to recognize its own irony when it states, “One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs,” considering the scientific facts about unborn children, such as the fact that research indicates that a baby’s heartbeat begins at around 21 days and that it can feel pain as early as the first trimester.
In light of that, it would seem that the Satanic Temple is going against a religious precept that it has set for itself.
Many people are also perplexed as to why the Satanic Temple would want to interact with kids in classrooms. Yet, they would gladly abort those same kids.
Breitbart News reported last year that the overt support for abortion is similar to the ancient pagans who offered their infants as sacrifices to the Canaanite god Molech:
“This was sharply addressed in the Old Testament, as the deity was first mentioned in Leviticus.
“You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord,” Leviticus 18:21 reads. Leviticus 20 also addresses the pagan deity and child sacrifice, as God strictly warned the people of Israel from “whoring after Molech,” lest God cut them off from among His people and they be put to death.
The other six Satanic Temple beliefs, however, are more individualized and mostly predicated on personal autonomy rather than the requirement for unchanging truth.
For instance, it is purported that the Satanic Temple holds that one ought to behave with “compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.”
“It seems that each person must decide for himself how far “with reason” goes. The fight for justice “is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions,” according to the Satanic Temple.
“But justice is ill-defined, and, once more, it seems that each person must make their own decisions,” the Satanic Temple states.
It should be emphasized that the Church of Satan, which was established by Anton Szandor LaVey in 1966, is not the same entity as the Satanic Temple.
