Messenger reporter Adam Klasfeld claims that early in his stand speech, Trump launched into a monologue that referred to the trial as “crazy,” leading Judge Arthur Engoron to order Trump to limit his comments to those he was directly asked.
Going “off on a tangent” over the statute of limitations, Trump allegedly made fun of Engoron, saying, “I’m sure the judge will rule against me because he always rules against me.”
Before instructing Trump, “You can attack me, do whatever you want, but answer the question,” Engoron questioned Trump’s attorney, Chris Kise, about if “that was necessary.”
Engoron: “Are you able to maintain control over your client? This isn’t a political demonstration.”
It is said that Kise told him, “You run the courtroom, not me.”
Kise doesn't confer with his client, and Trump boasts about his financial statements.
Trump: "It's a nice compilation of assets. It's a great statement. […] It's a lot of cash. […] The banks came to me. They wanted to make deals with me."
Judge: "Stricken! Stricken!"

Afterward, Engoron implored Trump’s attorney to “manage him, if you can.”
Engoron: "I beseech you to control him, if you can."
The judge warns Kise that if he will control Trump if the lawyer doesn't.

Trump’s attorneys, Alina Habba and Kise, stood up for him, claiming he was answering the questions.
Engoron snapped, saying, “I’m not here to hear what he has to say,” when Habba assured him he was there to “hear what he has to say.”
Trump:
"This is a very unfair trial. Very, very unfair, and I hope the public is watching it."

Trump retorted, calling the trial “extremely unfair.” It is extremely unjust, and I hope people are paying attention.”
In his testimony, Trump reportedly made fun of New York Attorney General Letitia James by saying that “you” and other “Democrat” prosecutors “were coming after me from 15 different sides.”
"I never worry about him on the stand, I love when he takes the stand, he is so honest and open."
