Olympic Sponsor Pulls Ads After ‘Mockery ‘of Last Supper

(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – An American sponsor has left the Olympic organization due to their Friday opening ceremony in Paris drag queen rendition of the Last Supper.

Mississippi-based phone service provider C-Spire announced on Saturday on Facebook that it planned to remove its advertisements from the XXXIII Olympiad.

The post read, “We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics. C Spire will be pulling its advertising from the Olympics.”

Tate Reeves, the Republican governor of Mississippi, applauded the telecom company’s choice.

“I am proud to see the private sector in Mississippi step up and put their foot down,” Reeves wrote. “God will not be mocked. C Spire drew a common-sense, appropriate line.”

Religious communities were also outraged by the blasphemous performance; French bishops condemned it as a “derision and mockery of Christianity” and declared their support for “Christians on all continents who have been hurt by the outrageousness and provocation.”

French lawmaker Marion Maréchal used social media to inform the public that the blasphemous exhibit was the work of a “left-wing minority” rather than speaking for France.

“To all the Christians of the world who are watching the Paris 2024 ceremony and felt insulted by this drag queen parody of the Last Supper, know that it is not France that is speaking, but a left-wing minority ready for any provocation,” she posted on X.

Thomas Jolly, the opening ceremony’s creative director, asserts that the performance was not meant to insult those in the purported minority who were in charge of it.

“Our idea was inclusion,” Jolly told reporters. “Naturally, questions are raised when we want to include everyone and not exclude anyone.

“Our subject was not to be subversive. We never wanted to be subversive. We wanted to talk about diversity. Diversity means being together,” Jolly added.

He added, “We wanted to include everyone, as simple as that. In France, we have freedom of creation and artistic freedom. We are lucky in France to live in a free country.”

Did Mississippi-based phone service provider C-Spire do the right thing in removing its ads from the 2024 Paris Olympics?
