(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – A new documentary on CBS News’s 60 Minutes claims that although average American taxpayers are fighting inflation and finding it difficult to make ends meet, their money supports small businesses in Ukraine.
Since the start of the Ukraine War in February 2022, the U.S. has reportedly given Ukraine’s economy around $25 billion in non-military aid and at least $43 billion in military funding.
A portion of the U.S. taxpayer money has been supporting “small businesses,” like a high-end knitwear company located in the capital of Ukraine, far away from the front lines.
“It's the aid from the heart of every ordinary American person,” says Tatiana Abramova, a small business owner in Ukraine. America has pumped nearly 25 billion dollars of non-military aid into Ukraine’s economy since the Russian invasion. https://t.co/LX7D9Kd6mL pic.twitter.com/32U9c7mS4I

Tatiana Abramova, the proprietor of the knitwear business, told CBS News that “we have to work, especially in the condition of war.”
“Taxes and employee wages and salaries are obligations that we must fulfill. Don’t stop working; we have to,” she said.
Answering the question, “Because economy is the foundation of everything,” Abramova said that helping Ukraine’s economy will help it win the conflict.
The U.S. Agency for International Development reportedly even assisted Abramova in locating clients abroad, according to CBS News.
Her company provides help to over 70 employees and their families.
“We recognize that it’s the aid from government, but it’s the aid from the heart of every regular American person,” Abramova stated to CBS News.
As Americans struggle to make ends meet, a Sunday Bloomberg story states that this is happening:
“Inflation has cooled down from a year ago, but that’s failing to allay the pain of Americans who are still paying up at gas pumps and grocery aisles.
As a result, there’s a growing disconnect between policymakers, who point to cooling inflation indicators as a sign of progress, and people who are struggling to make ends meet.
Even as the Federal Reserve’s favored measure of price gains eases, the cost of food, gasoline, car insurance and other essentials is still elevated after two years of persistent increases. The rate of core inflation stands at 4.3%.”
Along with paying for fertilizer and seeds for Ukrainian farmers, the $57,000 in help from the United States also pays for first responders in Ukraine.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) states that providing assistance to Ukraine is a “great deal for America.”
“This is the return on our investment. There isn’t a single soldier lost. We cut the Russian army’s fighting capability in half, and not a single one of us lost our lives doing it,” Graham told CBS News. “America stands to gain greatly from this.”
Ukrainians are paying “with their lives,” according to Ukrainian Army Lieutenant Oleksandr Shyrshyn, who spoke with the network.
And he said, “I hope and I believe that their lives have cost much more than money—much more than the money of taxpayers.”
Transparency International ranks Ukraine as the second most corrupt nation in Europe.
However, Ukrainian officials maintain that their government monitors U.S. funding and prevents it from being misdirected.
Nonetheless, the report states that U.S. officials are currently investigating four criminal cases involving non-military aid.
Furthermore, 170 Ukrainian government officials, including senior military leaders, have been accused of corruption just this year.
The Biden administration is now requesting approval from Congress for an additional $24 billion, bringing the total amount of U.S. aid to Ukraine since the start of the war to $135 billion.
We are funding 57,000 Ukrainian first responders! All while we have a shortage of Border Patrol agents, police, firefighters, and nurses in America!
We have less than 19,000 Border Patrol agents but are funding 57,000 first responders in Ukraine.

But with the public’s support for aiding Ukraine declining and the American economy struggling, over two dozen senators and members of Congress argue that no more money should be sent to Ukraine.
