New Washington Bill: Parents’ Rights vs. Child Gender Transitions!

( – A Washington State law would forbid parents from interfering with their child’s decision to undergo gender transitional therapy.

Senate Bill 5599 would permit adolescents to live in runaway youth host homes “without parental authorization.”

“If there is a compelling cause not to, such as a youth seeking protected health treatments, the host houses would also not be compelled to inform the parents of their children’s location or inform them if they are undergoing gender transition procedures.”

Fox News claims:

“The “protected health care services” included “gender-affirming care,” which for minors arbitrarily included anything prescribed by a doctor to treat dysphoria, the bill said.

“Gender affirming treatment can be prescribed to two-spirit, transgender, nonbinary, and other gender diverse individuals,” the bill stated.

For minors, “affirming care” typically included puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries. It was unclear which services would be approved under the bill.”

Instead of contacting parents, shelters can contact the Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).

The measure also provides that “circumstances that indicate contacting the parent or legal guardian will subject the minor to abuse or neglect” would be a compelling cause not to inform parents about their child residing in a host family.

Gov. Jay Inslee, a Democrat, has declared he will sign the legislation. Conservatives have harshly condemned the plan for inciting child abuse and taking away parents’ rights.

“A parent’s duty is to safeguard their child, and this bill deprives parents of that power. You can only imagine gender. The opposition to the law claims that it “legalizes child abduction, permits the harboring of minors, and excludes us from the union.”

According to State Senate Republican Leader John Braun, “the only thing [the bill] would accomplish is inflict harm by putting a breach between vulnerable youngsters and their parents, at a time when a teen lacks the perception and judgment to make vital life-altering decisions.”

“A parent may not even be aware of the reason the child ran away and could involve law enforcement or other groups in a desperate search,” he continued.

“All the while suffering through an unnecessary emotional nightmare, imagining the worst about what may have happened.”

Democrats have praised the bill for supporting youngsters who identify as LGBTQ.

Tana Senn, a Democrat, stated, “I am addressing to youngsters across our nation, across our state, and our communities.” I can see you. I reaffirm my affection for you and that I am listening to you. With the bill’s passing, we are indicating that Washington State agrees.”
