(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – On CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) claimed that the Supreme Court has engaged in “dangerous authoritarian expansion of power.”

“We have justices saying that the Supreme Court is going too far,” Ocasio-Cortez remarked. “They are taking on a larger role and posing as Congress itself. And I think we should really be concentrating on that increase of power.”
She added, “This court is dangerous, and there is a tendency for power abuse there, especially when conflicts of interest are involved.”
“Are you suggesting that the justices’ authority should be in some way restricted,” said anchor Dana Bash?
“I truly do,” Ocasio-Cortez affirmed. “Furthermore, this is hardly a brand-new historical trend. This is a component of our checks and balances system.
She continued, “The courts, if they were to proceed without any check on their power, without any balance on their power, then we would begin to see an authoritarian expansion of power in the Supreme Court, which is what we are seeing now from overturning abortion to the ruling for discrimination and, frankly, stripping the full dignity and personhood of LGBTQ people in the United States.”
“Impeachment must also be an option,” she continued. “We have a wide range of weapons at our disposal to deal with wrongdoing, overreach, and power abuse, as well as the Supreme Court, which hasn’t been getting the proper monitoring they need to maintain their own legitimacy.”
“And in the process, they have been undermining the court’s authority, which is really risky for our entire democracy,” she stated.
